Bystronic Pte Ltd’s Daniel Nauer, Senior Vice President of Market Division Asia and Australia shared with International Metalworking News for Asia its newest laser cutting system. The company has been providing high technology laser cutting systems for 27 years, thanks to continuous product development and inclusion of the latest technologies available.
Competiveness is the key word for customers to become world class manufacturers. In order to achieve competitiveness it is necessary to invest in quality products and in the latest available technologies, thus is the development of BySun laser cutting system.
He explains, “The BySun family of machines are affordable but integrate years of knowledge in the development and design of laser cutting systems.”
The BySun family has two main models; BySun 3015 with a 3300W CO2 resonator and BySun Fiber 3015 with a 2000 W wear-free Fiber source. Both machines have a cutting range of 3m x 1.5m and a state of the art and user friendly ByVision CNC made by Bystronic. They both integrate proven technology but come at an affordable price.
The main difference is on the laser source; BySun 3015 has a CO2 resonator, well suited to cut thicker sheets and the BySun Fiber has a 2000W Fiber source especially performing in thinner stainless steel sheets.
The Fiber source presents a number of great advantages in its total cost of ownership. For example, the light used for cutting is transported via an optical Fiber from the source to the cutting area; therefore the service costs and the consumables are greatly reduced on this machine. With a high efficiency of 30%, the BySun Fiber will consume less energy than a more conventional machine with resonator.
The BySun Fiber 3015 embeds knowledge in laser cutting accumulated during years in its ByVision CNC. The operator simply needs to define what material he is cutting and the thickness of the sheet. A simple and user friendly interface makes it easier to speed up learning, prepare the work, thus increasing the uptime of the machine.
Challenges Asian manufacturers face
“In this challenging environment, skilled labour will always be a key point in the success of any company. By providing sophisticated ByVision CNC’s and offline programming software such as BySoft 7, we do offer a solution to this.
Furthermore, speed of delivery is becoming paramount in this world. BySun Fiber 3015, offers the ease to setup the jobs and high cutting speeds (up to twice the speed of a CO2 resonator equipped machine),” Daniel says.
Major application areas
Daniel believes airports and over or underground trains are still needed in many countries in Asia. He says that even developed countries aim to constantly improve their infrastructures.
“Also, we see more and more modern buildings made of glass and metal. These buildings are also getting fancier, almost pieces of art, and there’s a lot of work for users. In a globalised world, goods need to be transported efficiently with the least waiting time, these areas have huge potential in many countries of Asia,” continues Daniel.
Bystronic in Asia
According to Daniel, they have been making Press brakes and Laser machines since years in China, with the Xcel and Xact Press brakes as well as the ByJin Laser machine built in Tianjin. These machines have been mainly marketed in China itself.
“In November 2012, we opened a second plant in Tianjin that is totally dedicated to the production of the ByJin and BySun la
